VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) – Parents at Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, Georgia tell WALB that park goers have been stuck on rides for nearly an hour due to a power outage.
Two of the stuck rides are the Twisted Typhoon and the Rattler, according to parents at the park.
WALB has received pictures and videos showing that some of the riders are beginning to be taken off the rides.
We reached out to Wild Adventures to learn what caused this outage and to learn more about the steps they were taking to resolve the issue.
A widespread power disruption linked to a nearby utility substation impacted operations at Wild Adventures and the surrounding community earlier this afternoon. Our teams implemented established safety procedures, including ride evacuations where necessary.
We are deeply grateful to our dedicated hosts and local emergency personnel for their quick response and professionalism in managing the situation.
Power has now been fully restored. We are also pleased to confirm that tonight’s concert will proceed as planned.
Guests who were in the park at the time of the outage have been issued rain checks. We recognize that some guests experienced significant disruptions to their visit, and we sincerely apologize for that. We greatly appreciate our guests’ patience and understanding during this situation.
