PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A second storm system is hanging out in northern Arizona today, creating a Flash Flood Watch for northwest Arizona that does not include the Phoenix metro area.
However, that storm is giving us a slight 20% chance for light showers during the early morning hours on Wednesday. If we get any rain in the Valley, it would be light. However, after storms die down tonight in northern Arizona, they’ll be back again tomorrow. In fact, there’s a great chance for showers in northern Arizona again tomorrow.
Regarding temperatures, we will be warming up fairly significantly as we head toward the weekend. By Thursday, expect highs around 100. By Saturday, we’ll be pushing 106. We have 108 in the forecast for Sunday and Monday.
While none of those are records, highs will be running about 5-7 degrees above the normal. No heat warnings are expected this weekend but the heat risk on Sunday, below alert level, will be listed as moderate.
